Historical

In Sacramento, history isn’t something in a dusty textbook, it’s a living, breathing thing you can see and touch and feel.
Sacramento was already a rapidly growing, diverse and thriving community when San Francisco was still a budding shanty town for fur traders (and long before Los Angeles was a thing). Here our history is interwoven with our present, side by side. For example, Sutter’s Fort (est. 1839), was a formidable fortress built in what was once hostile Indian Country with high, thick walls topped by cannon. Today it sits in the heart of Midtown, right next door to the shiny new neuroscience institute, neonatal ICU and health complex belonging to the company who bears its name, Sutter Health. No tired backlots necessary in this town, history is right here for the filming.
