Land Park

The neighborhood of Land Park began as Camp Union, a United States Military Garrison located at the present location of the Sacramento Zoo.

As it grew, it was divided into subdivisions, each intentionally with their own individual character and design. With no unifying architectural theme, the larger lots are more relaxed, unpretentious and more modestly detailed than other nearby neighborhoods. In addition to being home to the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, the Land Park Golf Course and Sacramento City College, Land Park has the highest percentage of parkland compared to any other neighborhood in Sacramento.
