Old Folsom

Founded in the 1880s at the height of the Gold Rush, Folsom’s Downtown Area features a myriad of hidden gems directly from the time period.

Some of these include a functional blacksmith shop, a large train turnstile, Southern Pacific Train Cars and Saloon style architecture with elements of modern build. The City also features many stunning bridges of various architectural types that crisscross the American River and dozens of creeks and waterways that surround the area. Walking around town you immediately notice how fastidiously clean and tidy it is kept by the labor force of Folsom Prison.
