The Fab Forties
The Fab 40s is one of the most iconic, gorgeous and wealthy neighborhoods in Sacramento.
Up until the Great Depression, the grand homes of the “Fab ’40s” were considered to be the modern-day equivalent of a suburban mansion. Now they are considered architecturally spectacular large to mid-sized houses in a very pricey location (that has long been the home of governors, senators, and celebrities alike – including the famous “Blue House” from Greta Gerwig’s 2017 film “Lady Bird”). The neighborhood is well known for its over-the-top holiday decorations and light shows that draw thousands of tourists from around the region every year.
